Heck, learning to read Devanagari somewhat fluently would be my
biggest motivator to learn Sanskrit.  But I can see where the
ligatures would pose a challenge.

I would say "I never met a script I didn't like", but that would be a
lie.  Thai gives me nightmares. :)
