<brandishing +3 Sceptre of Nitpick and Pedantry> Knuth only wrote TeX; LaTeX is the gift through Leslie Lamport, a *Microsoft employee* !!! </brandishing +3 Sceptre of Nitpick and Pedantry>

Or rather, my hand is forced by the (un)fortunate fact that decent Type1 font editors do not exist on Linux...

That's right. But for producing PDFs and PS's that people on this list can actually read, I probably have to resort to type 1 anyway. :-)

However, I have access to the METAFONTbook, and have read it several times, once the words themselves, the second time between the lines, and the third time between the pages. Now I await to unleash its hidden powers upon the unsuspecting masses of CONLANG! >:->

Not really... I am more awaiting my stubborn Ebisedian informant to introduce me to the Ebisedi scribes who actually know how to write proper _sanoki'_, as opposed to himself, who writes "street-sanoki'"[1], a mangled, over-simplified, dumbed-down, catered-to-the-masses, and just plain UGLY, mangling of the real _sanoki'_. [1] Cringe, ye masses, at the horrific multilingual compound! Muahahaha...

Now this, I will have to find out for sure from the _hoKasanii'_ [hok_hasa"ni:] in Ferochromon. They will send their agents to Libertia[2] and ferret out any existing Metafont Tutorial manuscripts from the trenches Christophe is purportedly hiding in. They may well be accompanied by the flying noodles from Cretaea,[3] if they manage to convince Arthaey to introduce them to the right folks. ;-) [2] That is to say, France, to be Americanally-incorrect. [3] Be glad they are not bringing with them some unscrupulous _3by0nui'_ from one renegade _`yKasanii'_...

And I have dutifully collected their tears in the form of the teardrop accents over smooth-breathing vowels in the Ebisedian Roman orthography. :-P

[snip] Perhaps we should sick the flying noodles to *you* then. Clearly, you are pasta-challenged. :-P T -- Shin: (n.) A device for finding furniture in the dark.
