Oddly, this pron. of "Chicago" (or things close to it; I don't have
[Q] in my dialect) is standard everywhere in the U.S. except in Chicagoland
itself, where it is stigmatized; a more fronted pron. of the stressed
vowel (though not full /&/) is used there.
Anyhow, to complete your education, Chicago is located in Cook County.
