Re: Dictionary Programs?

Hello,

being mostly (nearly totally in fact, can't remember the last time I posted)
a lurker on this list, I noticed last week's thread about dictionaries.

I am still preparing my yet unnamed conlang's dictionary and would like to
use latex, because I can then use my flat ascii-file which will get a little
more markup than it has now (probably done by a friend of mine with perl, then
handchecked by me) and import it.

What I would like to make is a lexicon that looks reasonably alike to the
professionally printed ones I know, including the fact that I would like it to
be in 2 columns, and it would be rather nice if it did have first entry/last
entry in the header area of the pages.

I am merely a beginner with latex, that is, I just used it enough to see
what a wonderful tool it is. Googleing the web, I could not find any helpful
latex dictionary documentclass (or package, or whatever, I don't have my
reference books here at the moment and am not sure about latex terminology yet).

If any of you has used latex for a dictionary, it would be very nice to let
me know what and how you did it. The Ebisedi lexicon for example looks very
nice, even though it lacks the features I want to have - any chance to get the
source file, please?

If you send me mail off-list, please use this adress instead of the one
above: b.u.hermesNO@gmxSPAM.de and remove the uppercase letters.

Greetings

Bernhard U. Hermes
