Re: Conlang Journal and being a fish

Whew! I just read through my remaining 400 new messages to make sure no one
had given you these languages yet. :)

Finnish:
olen kala
be.1s fish.NOM

Turkish:
balIGIm
fish.be1s

Both of those capital I's in the Turkish should be lower-case and dotless;
the capital G should be replaced with lower-case-with-breve.

Albanian:
unë jam peshk
I.NOM be.1s fish.indef.NOM

ë = e-umlaut

Tjaren: (extremely old conlang of mine)
am linqua
copula.1s fish.indef.NOM

I *swear* that the resemblance in form between Tjaren be.1s and English
be.1s was *completely* accidental. By way of proof, as a question it's "An
linqua?" and negated "Quadham linqua."

Oddly, NONE of my other conlangs possess a word for "fish," despite the fact
that some of them come from islands where fish form a staple in their diet.
I obviously have some kind of latent resentment toward fish.

Hmm...I don't *think* I've seen Quenya or Sindarin float by...I'm sure
someone could figure out the Quenya...I'd try but my bookshelf is in the
other room and I'm supposed to be sick today. :)
