Well, retroflex refers is a place of articulation. Standard /s/ is
lamino-alveolar, meaning that the front of the body of the tongue is
used. If the tip is used, then it is apico-alveolar, so technically
voiceless apico-alveolar fricative. It would be indicated in IPA by /s/
with a diacritic looking like |_| underneath it.
