We do have it in English, and probably in most other European languages as well. It is, specifically, the color of the original aniline-based dye, which was originally an attempt to re-create Tyrian purple without needing to use rare and expensive mollusks. The Empress Eugenie, and then Queen Victoria, did a great deal to popularize the color.
