Thanks to a Mamqian over-exposure syndrome, I nowadays pronounce all unknown q's as [M\]. This is worse than it sounds like; it makes it really difficult to decode texts by the misguided people who think that spelling all instances of [ku(:)] as _q_ looks cute. (I also seem to suffer from P.A.O.E.S., Phonetic Alphabet Over-Exposure Syndrome. I always want to pronounce the mathematical symbol ! as an alveolar click, as in n! [&n.!=].) -M.
