I'm sitting here laughing... I have an Aunt who lives in Ontario CA (Calif)
and I grew up in Detroit and we used to go to Ontario CA (Canada) all the
time.

I'm sure that there are more than a few who look at NB and think that this
would be the abbreviation for NeBraska. NB really is for New Brunswick.
Nebraska is NE. Same thing with my own province, Alberta which is AB but I
have seen more than once the same pair of letters being used for Alabama
(AL) and the AL being confused with Alaska which is AK. I'm sure that just
as someone looks @ CA and think it could either be Calif. or Canada then we
have the province Saskatchewan. Its abbreviation is SK which could also be
Slovakia. In Canada, we used to us abbreviations up to 4 letters long.

BC = British Columbia, Alta = Alberta, Sask= Saskatchewan, Man=Manitoba, Ont
= Ontario, Que=Quebec, NB=New Brunswick, NS= Nova Scotia, Nfld=Newfoundland
(which is now Newfoundland and Labrador) and PEI=Prince Edward Island,
NWT=Northwest Territories. As I'm only a transplant here, I don't recall if
the Yukon was Yuk or not or if it was always YT.

To Tristan McLeay... I knew what NT was.  I've long been fascinated with
Australia!
