Well, at least it isn't Socialist-Realist...or DiChirico Mussolini Moderne
(but that's another country).....To my weird taste, it's wonderfully
baroque, and almost "So bad it's good"......Also reminds me of the magical
vessel in (which was it???) "Time Bandits" or "Baron Munchausen"???? or some
movie of that ilk.
Jakarta, Indonesia, boasted several endearing "Socialist-Realist" monuments,
gifts of the Soviet Union-- back in the early 70s at least, not long after
the fall of Sukarno. I'll bet they've been pulled down to make way for
shopping malls..........
