Hmm, maybe not a Californian, but a Midwesterner is definitely a
"Yankee" to me. I think that the "West" is probly exempt from "Yankee"
in my usage. But Northwest is definitely the "most Yankee" area. I
guess it's sort of a graded quality, a New Yorker is more Yankee-ish
than an Illinoisan, and an Illinoisan more than a Californian.
