I've seen this site before. It's somewhere in my Favorites but
looking through that is like looking through a pile of stuffed
giraffe toys. I'll find it one day.

Anyway, by what I now know as /o/, I'm figuring that it's one of the
vowels that occurs in "farmer living in middle of nowhere somewhere
in Queensland" speech... Of course, it's not really right to lump
together all farmers living in the middle of nowhere into one speech
group...

Imperative

Well, I have seen a really cool website somewhere that had pretty
close
phonetic IPAs of various people's speech which had someone from Qld
using
[o] for /O/, I think. Unfortunately, I can't remember where it was,
but I
think I found it through browsing the Yahoo! Linguistics section
(probably in the phonetics area, I guess).
