I remember someone on another mailing list who said (well, he wrote
it) that once a mailing list reaches 100 postings a day (that's 3000
a month on average) it should really be a newsgroup.
I frequent a few newsgroups that have much less traffic than the
conlang list; some of those have much the same friendly atmosphere
(alt.books.deryni for instance).
Should we? I think we shouldn't; we'd only get spam and more
intrusions from hostile outsiders and people who just visit the
newsgroup to make fun of it and those who use it.
