this is very interesting : may i ask what really means "mentala" ? does it=20 mean that "mens" is the object of masturbatio ? or does it mean that=20 masturbatio has a mental shape/consistency ? or that the instrument is menta= l=20 ? or that "mens" is the beneficiary thereof ? etc. i think that kind of=20 adjective is the main cause for semantic mis-translation between natlangs. though having -at- as
> passive suffix, I was wondering what could mean "masturbatio" in UNL. > It would mean literally "the action of being masturbated", but since > masturbate/masturbi is a reflexive verb (by definition) this would > make not much sense in a logical language like UTL. i would add the "topic" issue here. arousing usually arises from thinking of=20 one's girlfriend/boy. she/he holds a capital role in the verb. voice and rol= e=20 are linked once again.=20 But how can
> "masturbate" be transitive if its definition is "to provide oneself > sexual pleasure"? > =20 > I'm afraid this is becoming another mental masturbation... >=20
i personally think it's a very interesting issue for conlangers.
