Or the account of him in the Bible is partly or mostly false. Undoubtedly, there where extra-scriptural traditions about him, on basis of which Muhammad may've formed his opinion, or alternatively, Jibril just told him the straight story - I'm no islamologist, but arguing that Jesus was prophet but not the Messiah isn't necessarily illogical, it just requires that you reject (most of) the New testament.

Christ is boolean? That is, your attitude to him is a simple either-or? If that's what you mean, I'm affraid I can't agree. Andreas PS FWIW, my personal opinion is that Jesus did tell the truth about himself and that the New Testament gives a true picture of him and his message.
