Re: McGuffey Readers now available in Tatari Faran!

You know, I saved all the messages in this thread, but never
read them until now. Let me comment on some things I saw:

*something* right somewhere. :-)

Yeah, but there was a kind of back-and-forth process that's helpful
with a relay. First what I do is I look at the words and just write,
word-
for-word, what's in the glossary. I try to get a sense of that, and
usually
it doesn't make sense. Then I read the grammar notes, and they make
more sense, based on my word-for-word. *Then* I'm able to go back
and apply the grammar, and then I *really* get it. By the end, I at
least thought that I *really* got the Tatari Faran text, and the
language
itself, and I thought the way it all worked was very cool. Of course,
we'll have to see how right I was when the final translation comes
out. ;)

Still Teoh:

As far as domain names go, unless you have some irrational craving for
.org, .net, or .com, you can probably get one for free from
http://dyndns.org/ . They do have quite a reasonable list of suffixes
to choose from. But they don't provide any webspace so you'll still
have to look around for one. I'm sure there are webspace providers out
there with reasonable prices.

If I understand this website right, you can get a domain name that's
xxx.yyy.com, where yyy is a pre-determined word? If that's the only
concern (for Sally), you should get a Free.fr account from Christophe:
They're free, and you get 100 MB. No complaints from me. However,
I got the impression that you want a www.xxx.com, where you get to
choose xxx, and there is no yyy. Right?

A random bit from one of Teoh's other messages:
<<
(Acquired Immune Defic^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H I mean,
Attention Deficit Disorder)
 >>

Is anyone else getting these ^H things? They seem to occur at
random in random people's messages. It's as if there was a
sensor and they really didn't want me to see the "it" in "Deficit".

Okay, I think that's it. I kind of like this McGuffey reader thing,
and think I may do it. Oh yeah, can we use those pictures? I
forget what the answer to that question was...
