Bladed weapons are one of those interests that come and go for me - much like
dinosaurs and assyriology! This far, it's caused no damage beyond making me
throw out 50 for a katana replica. I'm not normally a japanophile (I can't
stand Sailor Moon!), but I do have a soft spot for Japanese swords. Should I
ever see a matching waki-zashi, I'll have to buy it.
I'm also interested in knives, but am unfortunately not too good with them -
my motorics have always been below average. I think I mentioned on the list
that I cut myself in the finger during the summer - a milimeter or two further
to the left, and it would have been really bad. As it was, I could use my
finger again in a week, and in say a couple of years the scare will be hardly
visible. I do have a minor collectionof knives at home, incl a couple I've
made myself.
