English "hand" and "manually" don't resemble each other either ...
Could be that tlhIngon Hol simply borrowed from *lots* of other Klingon
and non-Klingon languages.
Besides, maybe Klingon underwent some dramatic phonetic shifts a few
centuries ago completely distorting words beyond recognition.
