One minor quibble.Arwen and Aragorn dont speak Quenya to each other, in
fact, Quenya is hardly used in the movie..and with good reason...since it
was not the daily language of Middle-Earth, Sindarin was.
Sorry, I meant Sindarin! Thanks for the link to
the Orkish. I've already devoured it. I find that
Helge's interpretation of the passage is similar
to mine--I almost wrote that the verb/nouns
had to have some kind of "intentionality"--
"for ruling them-all, for finding them, for bringing
them-all, for binding..." One thing he notes, and
I actually like this, is that the Black Speech may
make no distinction between plural and singular
except through the use of _ash_, "one," or some
such designation. So that _nazgul_ may be
plural unless modified by a singular particle.
What an idea.
Well, it's back to the Appendix and the Silmarillion.
