I don't think Indonesian suffers from that in particular, but there's one
phrasing in particular that requires it:
We didn't arrive in Jakarta until 8 o'clock.
baru jam delapan kita sampai di Jakarta
new hour 8 we/incl arrive at J.
lit. 'only at 8 did we arrive at J.'
baru has some amusing adverbial uses:
What time is it? baru jam 8 'only/barely 8 o'clock'
sudah jam 8 'already 8 o'clock'
You can use the first to indicate to guests that they needn't leave, the
party's just getting going......the second would suggest it's late and time
for them to go
