Only 33 states evidently sent in their EC lists by the famous
deadline (yesterday). This is the first time the deadline was
much attended to -- and only to stop the counting of votes that
have never been looked at since the machine did not read
any choice on the card recording the vote.
If we have become sticklers for the date on the EC list, as
the Supreme Court seems to think we should be, there
was as of yesterday no majority in the EC. Prexy would go
to the House of R. VP to the Senate. This will be conveniently
ignored now.
