ányë Matt: One of the classic garden path sentences is "The horse raced past the barn fell down". Looks ungrammatical, until you think about it for a moment... This was brought up last summer when I was at Cornell for summer courses...I couldn't make any sense of it then, and I can't now...what does this mean?? Elliott
