I have a book someone brought me from Qu'ebec about French in Que'bec
which gives lots of funny examples of clashes between Q. French and
Metropolitan French - a bit like the stories of Brits getting beaten up
in the US when they go into a shop and ask for "fags" (cigarettes in
British slang).
Basically the difference to me seems quite analogous to British /
American - a strong accent difference, beyond regional accents in both
countries, and a good few different words, but basically no problem in
comprehension.
