It's a spell from (A)D&D to dispel illusions. Saying "I disbelieve" is how you cast the spell in the role-playing game. It's a technical term.

I think I speak English as if I'm British; I lived in England for eighteen months when I was in my early twenties. I've been talking with so many people from different countries, though, that I can't get the real Wiltshire accent right any more.
