Re: Fruitful typos (was: Vulgar Latin)

I\'ll quickly introduce myself as I\'ve been on this list for a long time but
haven\'t really posted anything - I\'m Katie, I live on the South coast of
England
where I work as an analyst/programmer. I\'ve always been fascinated by inventing
languages and was pleased to find I wasn\'t the only one!

Does anyone know of a website where I can find out about basic phonetics (just to
find out what sounds the symbols represent), and also a website which will
explain a lot of the grammatical terms used on the list?

Speaking of placenames and their adjectives for the people from that place, I don\'t
think it\'s very common in England, but we do have \'Mancunian\' (Manchester)
and \'Liverpudlian\' (Liverpool). Also I\'ve heard \'Kentish\' is used for one
half of Kent, but not the other half.. I may be wrong there.

I used to live on the Isle Of Wight, where we had an adjective \'Vectensian\'
from the Roman name of the island, \'Vectis\'.
