Hiro,
I'm working on a project involving Asian languages (I've discussed
it a bit on alt.language.artificial but haven't gotten around yet to
posting anything about it on Conlang). I'll be interested to hear
more about your project.
As Taliesin asked, are you considering Chinese signs, Indian-derived
scripts or something all your own? I guess if you're going for
something super-realistic you might go for the Indian-derived
scripts (or Indian-derived in appearance).
For my language (which is based on Chinese languages, Japanese,
Korean, Vietnamese and Thai), I'm using a combined and modified form
of Japanese hiragana and katakana (because I wanted a syllabic
script based on simplified Chinese characters, and didn't want to
re-invent the wheel too much) and I use some characters from the Zhu
Yin (or BoPoMoFo) for final consonants. I'm also going to use the
50 or so most common hanzi.
Anyway, I look forward to hearing more about your project and I'll
share something about mine soon. Let us know what look you're going
for and maybe I'll have some suggestions.
Cheers!
Eamon
