A coworker of mine (who grew up in San Diego) would frequently write in informal emails things like: contact for contacted note for noted file for filed It's almost like the -ed ending is becoming silent to most people. I'm pretty sure it wasn't a type as she was pretty consistent in dropping the -ed endings.
