The American Heritage Dictionary, in a Usage note, tells us
that "than" is usually construed as a conjunction, but adds that,
less formally, it is construed as a preposition which would take the
objective case.
Moreover, sometimes either a subjective or an objective pronoun may
be used.
However, PIE did not give me a conjunction for "than," so I went
with a postposition "in comparison to, compared with," which has led
to the problem I mentioned previously. The verb "sôma," compare,
gives the postposition "sóma."
