Talking about etymology.... today i was looking in vain through all the huge dictionaries in my school library for the word "stychic", which i finally found out from someone, not from a dictionary. It's a fancy philosophical/ideological way of saying "inevitable". But, while i was looking in the dictionaries, i always noticed the word "stygian" right next to where "stychic" should have been. And i found out that the name of my ElendorMUSH character inspiration for all of Rokbeigalm-tzat, "Stygius", is a real word :) - it's Latin for "Stygian". And i always thought that putting the -us at the end made it more noun-like... :) Oh, and even though "stygian" is pronounced [stIdZi@n], "Stygius" is [stajgij@s] in English, [stajgijus] in Rokbeigalmki, where it's more properly written _Stiigiyus_. Hmm...does anyone happen to know why _stygius_ has a {y} when the Greek word it comes from, _stugios_, has a {u}? -Stephen (Styg) _nii mlav khalu tazao ga'uhzoi-aderet ta'tora-a._ ___________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail.
