That's very interesting. I don't know anything about etymology and so until=20
now I fancied that Ger. "zeigen" and Eng. "tug" came from a kind of=20
"ziehen-zug" root like "to pull, to draw" or something like that. Hence my=20
mistake that "tonen" came from that root too. Now I can see that ancient=20
words are nicely figurative.
