how about the two latin verbs :
|esurio, esurire| be hungry, desiderative of |edo,
esse| eat ( which i know exists )

the 'supine+rio' formation wasn't exactly productive
in latin, but these are a couple of good examples of
extension in meaning of a
desiderative/optative[eek!]/cupiditive[ouch!]
formation

[eek!] optative surely refers to a subordinable mood
of a verb classically used in exlamations ( like the
greek |oioio| 'if only you would think !' )
[ouch!] not the prettiest word in tbe world !
