In Brooklyn, I think, they would never say [k&?]. Mostly medial, I would
say, and AE always uses glottal stops for vowel-initial, IIRC. Umm, for
another example:
I've heard ['wU?n=t] for /wUdn=t/. (BTW, I'm pretty new with X-SAMPA. For
syllabic consonents, should I use = instead of the dot beneath?) Also, as in
England, I think it sounds uneducated, if only to my ears.
