Last try. This time I'm using UTF-7. I suspect that this will work
fine, since (1) it doesn't involve anything that can be thought of
as a single byte value with the high bit set encoded somehow, and
(2) the mail server probably doesn't know how to decode it anyway.
The downside is that UTF-7 is deprecated (if indeed it was ever
officialy sanctioned; I don't think it was) and so even among
Unicode-aware email clients there probably aren't many that
understand it. Anyway:
