In my Hattic language, word order is more or less free, but there is a strong tendency toward VSO word order. So, the first line of the ever-famous Babel text will look like this: Ha avõd pušu tkohu sum zõjukĩ ha sumoneš luchĩ. ha = and avõd = imperfect, 3rd person pl. of võz "to have" pušu = nom.N. of pušer "whole" tkohu = world (N) sum = one zõjukĩ = acc.sg. of zõjuk "language" sumoneš = nom.acc.pl. of sumoner "same" luchĩ = acc.pl. of luch "word"

Well, I have nothing in particular against the accusative. A dative would be placed most likely between the subject and the object, but that's nothing unusual. Then I thought, wouldn't it be much worse if life were fair, and all the terrible things that happen to us come because we actually deserve them? So, now I take great comfort in the general hostility and unfairness of the universe." --- J. Michael Straczynski __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
