In my Hattic language, word order is more or less
free, but there is a strong tendency toward VSO word
order. So, the first line of the ever-famous Babel
text will look like this:
Ha avõd puu tkohu sum zõjukĩ ha sumone
luchĩ.
ha = and
avõd = imperfect, 3rd person pl. of võz "to have"
puu = nom.N. of puer "whole"
tkohu = world (N)
sum = one
zõjukĩ = acc.sg. of zõjuk "language"
sumone = nom.acc.pl. of sumoner "same"
luchĩ = acc.pl. of luch "word"

Well, I have nothing in particular against the
accusative. A dative would be placed most likely
between the subject and the object, but that's nothing
unusual.
