We-ell, I guess that the English form of "Altaii" ought to be "Altaian" -
it's fromed from the country-name "Altaia".
BTW, "Altaia" is to my knowledge quite unrelated to "Altai" - it started
life as a corruption of "Altara" in Robert Jordan's The Wheel of Time
series.
