Read the beginning of the first chapter of Exodus - it uses the term
_misim_ = 'labor tax', i.e. corvee.
Hmm... let's compare the corvee system described in Exodus to jury
duty... forced labor, killing of children, torture... sure sounds like
slavery to me. Jury duty: participation in the government of your
country, no killing, no torture... not slavery. They even pay you!
Oh, and Moses did have an ark - his mother sets him adrift in an ark in
the Nile in order to save him from death, and he gets found by the
pharoah's daughter. Check out the beginning of chapter 2 of Exodus.
