Reading you and after saying "lira -- liras" to myself as I did the dishes, I tend to agree; "lira" sounds better as the plural. Still wishy-washy about krona.

For better or ill, pronounced as "(cocktail) franks".

Yeah, 'fraid I have to part company with Marcus on this one. Spanish-sounding currencies (as Lars mentioned for Danish) definitely take the "s" for me. And back to the original point, I would certainly say "euros". Let the long arm of Brussels try and catch me. Kou
