I read a little about ringworlds and Dyson spheres and I must say I
assumed wrongly. As I understand it now, ringworlds and Dyson spheres
are actually synthetically created ecosystems that orbit the sun :P
Whoops, my mistake ;)

Terry Pratchett's famous Discworld is ... as the name implies, set
upon a pizza-like world, but it's more absurdist than scientifically
plausible.
Oh, did I mention that the planet is set upon the backs of four
elephants which stand on the back of a giant turtle? ;)
Still, it's technically an example thereof.
