About 20 light-years away, though the trip is said to take only about 4-5 weeks by FTL ship. You'd have to say good-bye to cream, butter, probably chocolate, and lots of other good things. And think twice if you're allergic to animal fur. ;-)

Either civil or religious; either is considered valid. Civil mainly involves legalities like child-support, rights to assets; civil partners (of any orientation) might not even live together, though that would be unusual. Civil unions are relatively easy to dissolve. People take the religious union much more seriously; it may come well into a civil marriage or after a long relationship, once you're sure things are working out. It is meant to be life-long; consequently it is more difficult to dissolve, only after a lot of official- and self-analysis as to reasons and motives. (It is, of course, a far more interesting ceremony than a visit to the town clerk. Perhaps I'll find a text.....)
