Reminds me of a stupid joke: A man comes to see a psychiatrist and says to him: - You know, doctor, I am gay. - Well, there's nothing wrong with that, says the doctor. - You don't understand. I am gay, but my father is also gay. - Well, those things happen, but being gay is not... - That's not all. I'm gay, my father is gay, but my grandfather is gay too! - But, nobody likes women in your family? asks the doctor, surprised. - Yes, one of us likes women: my sister!

Strangely enough, I've never come with a word for "gay" in any of my languages, though I've already used the name of my boyfriend in Chasmäöcho to mean "love"... I really have to find that in my conlangs. I will begin with Reman and Narbonósc, it's easier with a posteriori languages :) . By the way, I know that "gay" comes from French "gai" (which used to be written "gay" at the time of the borrowing"), but where does "gai" come from? Latin? Christophe. http://rainbow.conlang.free.fr
