All my web pages (as well as most of my emails, and most of the code I
write at work) are written with Vim, which is a superset of vi. Vim has
been ported to almost everywhere. I develop my web pages in DOS shells in
Windows.
Vim (like vi) is very much on the easy-to-use end of the easy-to-learn/
easy-to-use spectrum. It takes a while to get used to, but once you do it's
very efficient.
Vim is charityware; if you like it you're expected to give some money to
charity. Its main website is http://www.vim.org/.
