Bryce mainly does alien type landscapes. It's nice but the images look
artificial. A program I prefer for doing landscapes is called Terragen:

dont think it does anything except landscapes, but I dont have it. THe
only drawback to terragen is it doesnt have an option for adding trees,
and also, your landscapes usually look like tundra or alpine (but if you
mess witht he bump maps it has, you can simulate the look of distant
trees).
