Correct on all counts; I had WP8 on my first computer; it could do lots
"special characters", but no full IPA nor Unicode (I guess I could have
downloaded them, but didn't quite know how at the time). However, WP docs
were not always readable by other computers. I now have Office XP or
something like it, plus Word 2000; these have Unicode, and hundreds more
fonts than I'll ever use--but I find them quirky, and their Help files are
impossible. I had to reinstall WP8 so I could read my old files; very
strange, often disastrous, things happen when I try to open or copy them
into XP or Word.
