I created a pidgin just the other day to be used at a party I was organizing this last Friday. Incidentally it came out almost exactly like Tok Pisin (which you might wanna check out), which wasn't really what I intended. It's called _lingonpidgin_ (because the name of the student club is _lingonord_). Here are some sample sentences: Give me more beer. "Givim mi mo bia!" That's 20 bucks. "Twenti mani, plis." Come, let's dance! "Kam, yumi danis!" Fett med kul, län! (Lit. "Phat with fun, man!" "Prapa panipela, wantok!" Where's the lemon? "Wanemples muli?" What are you doing? "Yu mekim wanem?" Can I buy you a drink? "Mi ken baim dring po yu?" Do you believe in love at first sight or should I walk by you one more time? "Yu bilipim laikim long nambawan taim, no mi go wokabaut hia narapela taim?" Come quickly! "Kam hariap!" Bond. James Bond. "Bonid. Yemis Bonid." Now you be DJ for a while. "Yu pilaim singsing long teprikoda nau!" Help! How do you mix a "witch"? "Halivim! Olsem wanem miksim prapa sanguma meri?" ||| daniel -- danielandreasson @ swipnet.se | http://home.swipnet.se/escape
