I consulted a friend who teaches French. She is of the opinion
that "prendre" is the correct verb in the expression and that "mettre"
is definitely incorrect. She bases this on the expression "prendre
temps," to take time.
She also says that "long" is not necessary, merely "plus que," more
than.
I am still working on a Senjecan rendering.
