I've heard that /T/ and /D/ aren't mastered till about four or five, and
they're the only sounds I can remember actually learning
I can remember finally learning how to produce the "r" and "L" sounds. It
took me forever to learn to say those right; before then I enunciated
something instead that sounded like the Kankonian lagma (the nasal sound
represented by the asterisk).

You remind me of my little brother! Except he always did it at the beginning
of words. When Alex was three or four, he used to say "psot" instead of
"spot" or "psace" for "space". Our family would say "Awwww, how cute!" every
time we had him do his rendition of "The Eensy-weensy Psider", which they
would ask him to sing again and again because it was so cute, so kawaii
, we couldn't stand it. Except for his/my maternal grandmother, who tried to
get him to say the words properly. At least he would have made a great
Ancient Greek.
