Thank you.

It is my obsession. The planet and the maps came before the language (Gevey), but both have been developed in tandem, over the past 25 years or so. Access to computers and the internet - and especially groups such as this one - have greatly helped push the development of both.

Yes. One possible scenario could be as mentioned in the Red/Green/Blue Mars book series, with humanity starting to seed itself across the galaxy inside large, hollowed out asteroids. This would allow for a number of colonisation attempts over the course of several hundred years, as the bow-wave of human colonisation passed through that part of the galaxy, before it became a backwater area again, with no significant contact with spacefaring peoples for the next 6,000 years or so.

The planet is earth-like, but not earth. The indiginous biosphere is different in a number of small but significant areas - additional exotic amino acids and other biochemical irregularities, etc. The outcome is two competing biospheres (Kaliedan and Terran) for common energy sources, minerals and carbon sources etc, with the most fierce fighting happening at the bacterial level. The assimilation plagues are mainly the indiginous bacterial like organisms trying to make use of a new, exotic food source (terran organisms, including humans) Assimilation plagues have bought the human population close to extinction on a number of occasions. The "current" population of the planet is just over 20 million.
