Ben Franklin never had anything to do with spelling changes, and when
Webster put out his dictionary, most of his spellings, like _groop_ were
ignored by most Americans, and the spellings that WERE accepted were
almost all those that had already been in use, like -er for -re in
"center", "theater", etc. and -or for -our.
