My vote would be for a separate list, but I'm actually
mostly indifferent.

I'd like to see something somewhere in between those two
levels, maybe a bit closer to IE than Romance, but close
enough that there is some hope of recognition (though this
is more up to the individuals involved, I guess) and some
chance of 'scholarly' borrowings.

I guess I'd rather see a new world, or an "Alternate
Earth," rather than trying to fit this in as an Earth
language. It leaves more options open, I think.
