Nope, but many (most?) manga is written using furigana (i.e hiragana and katakana on top - or to the right in column writing - of the kanji to give their reading), so you only need to learn the syllabaries to read manga. I think it's because most manga are targetted towards a young audience that doesn't master all the kanji yet. So adding pronunciation with them is necessary for the Japanese as well :) .
